Re: Unknow gun
Hi Jos,
It seems to be a naval turret on a boat : for me it is the hule of a kind of small battleship in an harboor. You can see a "small bridge" from the pier to the boat.
Regards
Sébastien

Re: Unknow gun
This is the italian monitir Fai Di Bruno. Built during WWI to carry 2-15 inch guns rom cancelled battleships. The smaller are 76 mm aa guns Reportidly it used concrete armor and was more of a self propelled barge with guns for shore bombardment than a true monitor. It survived into the second World War and was uses as a stationary coastal defense battery.
Re: Unknow gun
Thanks Sébastien and Roland
I have in 1944 a "coast" battery in Genua M.K.B. Monitor 2 x 38.1 cm K
and 4 x 7.6 cm Flak , this would fit the Italian monitor Faa Di Bruno .

Re: Unknow gun
If the Mkb was active it is a case of overkill as there were already 2 twin 381 mm turrets in service a genoa.
Re: Unknow gun
Yes you are right about the overkill 6 x 38 cm guns at Genoa , but I don't know date when the guns were build .
M.K.B. Monte Moro I = 2 x 38.1 cm
M.K.B. Monitor Biber = 2 x 38.1 cm
M.K.B. Arenzano = 2 x 38.1 cm

Re: Unknow gun
Jos,
This looks like twin naval AA guns of 90 or 100 or 105 mm. Are you sure it's French ?

Re: Unknow gun
My best guess from the shield and barrel shape would be french, most likely 90 mm Model 1925 in twin mount CAD Model 1930.
Re: Unknow gun
Thanks for your replays
I was thinking the same French 100 mm or 90 mm in twin mount , it's a pity
that the concrete bettung is blocking the view on the bottom part of the mount.

Re: Unknow gun
The gun on this picture from ebay.de looks very similar to the one on Jos’ first picture. It could even be the same location ! What do you think ?
