Re: Railway guns of the Axis forces
Hi Sturm,
The guns look like the 152mm Canet M1892 railway guns we discussed in the MKB Bluecher thread here:
viewtopic.php?f=70&t=184717&start=15
According to the book "Railway Guns of World War II", Latvia mounted 5 of its 6 in. (152 mm) Canet coastal guns on old Russian flat cars in 1937-38. After invaded Latvia, Russia incorporated these guns in the 2 MzHDAB. Then Germany invaded Latvia in 1941 and captured the guns from the Red Army.

Re: Railway guns of the Axis forces
From what I could find, the Latvian Army had 4 of the 152 mm railway guns with no shield and just one with shield.

Re: Railway guns of the Axis forces
Hi all,
An interesting image from Ebay. 38cm SK L45 Max railway guns from WW1.
In the image can be seen 6 o 7 guns. I think the total number manufactured were 8 guns in 1918.
Probably concentrated awaiting destruction after WWI.
