Rudel&Tigerfan,
I understood from a friend that Rudel's book also mentions Peiper. Could you please tell me if this is true?
Thanks in advance,
Timo

I've been told that Rudel visited Peiper in Landsberg prison, but I hope to learn more about this as a friend told me that Rudels book contains details about this visit. It could however be that he means another book about Rudel, not his autobiography.
Cheers,
Timo

Timo :
All I have is Günther Just's special pictorial on Rudel, Günther being
a former Fw 190 high cover pilot for Rudels special Panzer staffel. I note nothing on Peiper as the book is very limited to text.

There is nothing about "Peiper" in the autobiography of Rudel.
To Erich:there isn't the dates of the 2 fighters shoots.

Il-2 was not a bomber, but a Sturmovik - ground-attack airplane, and the direct ancestor of the modern A-10 Warthog.

Yes, the Americans inspired themselves from a Soviet invention 8)
