I'm always intrigued by the Regelbau 116. Here a nice press photo.

Hello Arthur

The "Scharte" looks a little bit like the early 3.7 cm Pak bunkers ( page 50 Der Westwall )

It looks like some artillery casemate 10-15cm.

Isn't that the same bunker 2 posts up but then from the inside? The protective shield is on the side.

Shieldless 3.7cm Pak? The Böhler doesn't have this slight bend in the barrel.

Hello Jos

We see next to the "Sechsschartenturm" left and right the "Lüftungspanzer" so a smale couple to ensure the air systhem inside the bunker. This and the fact that we see also rigtht in front of the bunker the usual "Fletner Lüter" Outlet of the airing systhem of the bunker tells us that we see a picture of a typicale B-Werk of the Westwall.
So one of few rare BIG Bunkers they wheir realy building there.

Comparing to the landscape in the behind of the bunker I can only guess that it MIGHT be in the Weisenburger Senke at the border between Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Nord Elsass (North of Alsace). But this is only a wild guess because I never lived there. But if you like, I can ask some of the folks from around there for more information.

Anyway a great picture and thanks for sharing

Greetings Saska

Did B-Werke have Lüftungspanzer? I think this is more of an Sk Sechsschartenturm block built onto a slope, there, Lüftungspanzer can be very helpful.
