Hi John

The best information would be the K.T.B. of the Seeko Normandie ,
all firing from M.K.B. and H.K.B. at targets at sea were recorded there.

Regards Jos

P.S. M.K.B. Lonques fired first at 05:05 , M.K.B. St.Marcouf at 05:14

Hello

I think you should check Hans Sakkers: "Normandie 6. Juni 1944", Biblio Verlag, 1998.

It is a very comprehensive collection of German sources concerning the invasion.

Best regards
Jens

Hi All

The book is very very good  but the book is only about 06-06-1944
for example the last of the 4 guns of 2./1261 Azeville was put out of action
on 08-06-1944 14:05 by American anti-tankguns .

As for most good information a tripp to the Bundesarchiv in Freiburg is a must.

Hello All

The first photo is in the book "Les batteries de côte en Normandie" as one of the two 21 cm gun
of the M.K.B. Marcouf that were not jet placed in the gunbunkers that were in buildingproces .
Could the other post-war Ebay photo also be from the same battery ??

Regards Jos

Jos,

It's the same gun at the same location and at the same time. Compare for instance the breech (most likely destroyed by the Germans before retreating), the remains of the camouflage net hanging from the tree and the branch with a fork-shape on the right.

The 2nd photo is also visible here:

Hello

"Hello All, Could this be the 650 at Azeville ???

Most certainly it is the Azeville battery. See two pictures from my visit there last summer.

Note the cross in front of the bunker. The germans did let it be there through out the whole war.
