Re: Online auction topic
Hi all,
Two another images of this rare 10.5cm leFH german howitzer. So far, I have not been able to find information about this weapon. I guess it is a weapon of transition between the old 10.5cm leFH16 howitzer and the modern 10.5cm leFH18.
For the photographic evidence, it appears that some small amounts of this weapon were produced, probably in early 1930s.

A procurement of a new light howitzer was item N:o 1 on the second priority list in Dringlichkeitsliste des Heereswaffenamtes-Prüfwesen für vordringliche Arbeiten vom 1.6. 1927 Nr. 59/27 g.Kdos. The following year calculations were presented on a light howitzer with L/25 barrel length (Source Waffen-Revue Nr. 66 page 49). Maybe some of the L/25 howitzers were made before switching to the 10,5 cm le. F.H. 18 with a L/28 barrel in early thirties. The earliest ID'd le. F.H. 18 photo I've seen was the V 10 prototype (same source).

Re: Online auction topic
Thanks Markus, for that interesting bit of info! I never knew aabout the L25.
So far I Always thought the mystery howitzer was an infantry support version of the lFH16, developed by Rheinmetall. Look at the peculiar boxtrail that shares some aspects with the boxtrails of the IG18 and the SIG as well as the 10,5cm L15 mountain howitzer. So it might have been L25 and a completely new weapon...
Anyway, that early lFH18 that you saw, does it have a boxtrail? Just to solve that mystery of the dozens of Turkish lFH18s that had boxtrails...
Kind regards,
Nuyt

The V 10 at least had a split trail; Wonder how the evolution from V1 to V9 had been.

Hello Folks,
Anyone knows where was this bunker ? according to the comments, it should have been somewhere in Holland.
It looks strange that already in 1943 the bunker was sliding from the dunes.
