During works on the 'express' road nearby, they discovered 'some' remains of the Ter Linden Castle from the MPHS Brugge:

Here's the article(in Dutch however)

Hi,
It certainly could, but it is not a configuration I can find in the works of Trenkle. However the four mast are characteristic of the Adcock configuration so it could be two systems sharing the same Peil-Baracke.
And Jos, thanks for sharing.

Hi stril,
I'm sure that is correct. A MPHS would be somewhat secluded from other units, but we also know that picture captions are as reliable as to-morrows weather forecast.

I didnt know that...Anyway, if the german documents place the MPHS at Brest at the right place, perhaps its possible to find the place today.

Hello

Here a part of a original document , please see the left lower part the MarinePeilHauptStelle M.P.H.S.
for the "Sudwall" was at Montpellier , just as the H.Q. of the naval radarposts 51 Funkmesskompanie .

Hello
Some coments about the pictures named "MNO Brest"
If i recall it correctly the MNO(Brest) West and the MPHS at Brest was located at different locations.

Perhaps this link to ebay could be interesting. It contains lot of interesting pictures. MNO Brest ?, or MPHS Brest ?

Hi stril,
I'm sure you had a stop-watch running in order to see how fast I reacted.
1. Fantastic pictures I have never seen anything like them.
2. It is a MPHS, just look at the unit crest, the same motif and design as seen here:
http://www.gyges.dk/kriegsmarine_signal ... igenc2.htm

3. How do we know if it is Brest? One picture seems to depict the same barracks as we saw in the post by Jos as of 21 APR 2008.

4. I noted the pictures attached with particular interest. The admiral must be identifiable. There is a picture of a Adcock type and then a picture of a system which neither I nor Trenkle can identify

 i knew you would pop up pretty fast..
How do we know if it is Brest?
We dont.. :) The previous pictures was named MNO Brest, german papers mention MPHS Brest at "Lez Tres Hir bei Brest"
and the pictures should at least add some clue to where this is.
It is the same place as you mention, and by looking at the pictures it seems to be two other similar setups close by.
The one you havnt seen before should be easy for those of you interested in such to identify

One day I'll learn to check my sources and not quote from memory, Trenkle knew, I didn't.
Please see attachment from Funkpeil-und-Horch-Verfahren
There should be a very red faced smiley here.

Hello All

First thanks to Strill for bringing this to out attenttion , I agree with Ses that it's must be a M.P.H.S. and not
a M.N.O. ( see the shield and the types of masts and adcock . Were would we be without Mr. Trenkle .
I also found this called "Donau" and with naval radartroops ?? also found there in the region the radarpost
"Wolga" but I can't locate at this time .

Regards Jos
