Hello Maurice,
I was a member of the association from 2002 to 2006. Yes of course they manage to preserve german bunkers, but on their list of priority french buildings came first. The Séré de Riviere fort is also very interesting, the french coastal defences of 1937-1940 too.

Maybe am I wrong, but I keep on believe paintings are made from french soldiers. Germans could had leave them when they occupied the fort.

Hello Folks,

I've just find back an old picture of mine from the early 2000's years.
It was made inside one of the ammunition store of the IVth gun. You can clearly see the french markings in deep blue ("Tribordais" - numbers) and also the germans writings (Ruhe sonst ! in gothic letters and some flowers) in clear blue.
I think we have here two periods of the battery.
From the others pictures, Planes and boats are made in deep blue as well.

RV

PS: Tribordais means the sailors manning the right part of a vessel, in the french navy.

Hello RV,

In the same room where you found "Ruhe Sonst", we found other texts:

Hello Tom,
yes, thanks, I know the several writings of this room. I haven't been there for many years now, I wonder if this room was cleaned up. It would be nice if so.
