Today, I have been to La Crèche Fort (I haven't been here for about 6 months)... After many works, a lot of things have changed in this place !

Hello everyone,

Very nice picture Jos. Behind the barriers, there is a stair going down below the right ammunition room. If I am right we are behind the gun n°4. This entrance was modified by Germans to build "York" (SK personnal)...

Everyone has missed this picture ("everyone", there have been 4 auctions ) ! This picture is showing the entrance of the fort, with on the right the guardian's house with the water tower, built in 1936 and 1938 and damaged. On the left, there is the 7,5 cm AA batterie and you can see a lot of soldiers going down to the moat. I think it is representing a moment of the fort attack by 2. Panzerdivision : after having won the battle against the fort, the french soldiers were gathered in a moat (I read this in a book about the battle of Boulogne in May 1940 written by a journalist, Guy Bataille) :
