Hello

Could the wooden planks be for protection?

If the front concrete were hit it would release concrete chips on the backside, and the wood would protect the personel against that?

In front of the bunker, well????

Just like Jack says a open roof bunker only a small part covered with concrete , still hoping for photo's from the frontside .

The thing lying on the leftside, looks like a cover that could be placed on the scharte? You can see a handgrip (in dutch: handgreep):-)
