22 cm K. 532 (f)
Hello All
Here a 22 cm K. 532 (f) used as coast battery , the 2 persons on the right
look to have tropical uniforms and the one on the left looks Rumanian .
Maybe at the Mediterranean coast ?????

Jos,
Since you've detected a Rumanian officer, could this open emplacement be on the Black Sea e.g Constanza, the harbor that ressembles Le Havre' s harbor ?

Hello Emmanuel
The problem is that I have no information on the Rumanian and Bulgarian coast only some
H.K.B. batteries at Greece , they did use the 22 cm there as you can see on the list .

If this 220 mm gun was used indeed by the Bulgarian Army, had it been provided by the Germans or had the Bulgarian Army bought some of them before WW2?

Re: 22 cm K. 532 (f)
In Varna Naval Museum there are two of these guns. According with Hans MEHL, Feld-und Festungsartillerie. Heeresgeschütze aus 500 Jahren. Band 1: 1450 - 1920, page 141, Bulgarian used one of these guns to defend Varna Bay, but is very unlikely since it was introduced in French Army only in June 1918. At the beginning of WW2 French Army had 68 of these guns and many of them were captured by German Army in 1940. At least eight 220mm Schneider guns M 1917 were sent to Bulgarian Army that used them to defend the coast of Thrace (4 guns at Kavala and 4 at Dedeagatch). So I think that the gun in Varna came only during WW2.

Hi Jos,
Your last 2 posted photos are of Batterie Strassburg at Jerbourg point on Guernsey and were taken in 1941.
The 1st one is a well published photo locally!
