Re: Schiessgerüst
Hi Jos,
think it's 30,5 SKL/50 in BSG Flachbettung from Friedrich August on Wangerooge Island. As you know, they were later transferred to Friedrich August near Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Same guns were on Helgoland (Von Schröder), but these were in BSG Tiefbettung.
Greetings,
Barovic

Re: Schiessgerüst
Thanks Barovic
I was not sure if it was a 28 cm S.K.L/50 or a 30.5 cm S.K.L/50 m but I think that you are right .

Re: Schiessgerüst
What's the difference between Flachbettung and Tiefbettung? And what's the formal name of these mounts? I've seen references to Kst.Drh.L.C/37, but can't confirm anything. Hogg has a long description of the elaborate facilities provided these guns, but I'm not at all sure that it's appropriate for them, which seem to be fairly austere installations.

Hi Jason
The Flachbettung is made on a base on groundlevel and the Kesselbettung the gun is sunken in a kind of pit .
