It is a standard Höh.Jafü.West Typ 59. (Richtlinien für den Ausbau von Such-u. Grossuchstellungen für den Tag- u. Nachtjagd im bereich des Höh.Jafü West g.Kdos 20.7.1943). These types of buildings are in the document classified as: "Blockhäuser (Bodenwaffebeschuss-sicher)". Please also see:

I have a number of additional drawings, which I will up-load in the comming days.

I have done a careful review of my drawings and it seems like I spoke in haste. The drawing posted by Jos is conceptually very similar to the Typ 59, but it is somewhat different.

Hi Jos,

That's a very nice drawing! On the rh lower corner of this drawing is mentioned this baracke was used for W-Stelle z.b.V (UKW). But what's a "W-Stelle z.b.V (UKW)"?

Best regards, Klaas

Hi Jos,

Thanks for doing the the search on "W-Stelle z.b.V (UKW), no idea what the 'W-Stelle' means. (Obvious zbV = zur besonderen verwendung and UKW = Ultra Kurz Welle)

It's very tempting to asume the meaning of the W..... (Warn, Wach, Wotan,Wetter et cetera.....), but I'm not going to do that. 8O 8O

SES, any ideas on the W-Stelle?

Best regards, Klaas

Hi,
I have tried to do a dna-barrack check, but I don't have a similar drawing. I have noted that the rooms are of a technical nature (as opposed to operator) so a WAG for W could be Werft.

Hello

The text also say:

"Notstrohm - Maschinenraum" and "Baracke für Notstrohmmaschinen"

"Entwickelt aus Typ. BfH 24620"

Does that say anything further about the use?

Regards
Kurt

Hi,

Please see enclosed scan, it part from Trenkle's Funkpeil-Horch page 21. Is it possible that Jos's Baracke was part of a Funkhorch W-Stelle?

Now THIS is a large barrack.
Possibly a Regelbau Kommandantur Baracke. The one depicted must be from Frederikshavn, but I have reason to believe that a similar one still exist at Aalb-West and there was one at Grove.

Hi,
Not really. Bur rather IT-nerding. The forum for some in-explicable reason only accepts attachment which are 800 pix wide and 2000 pix high, so if I posted in landscape it would have had to be reduced to about 33%, and I figured that anyone sufficiently interested would down-load and turn themselves.
