Thats a typical Mannschaftsbarracke RL IV/2 or IV/3. Not necessarily a Luftwaffe barracke. Although these standardised barracks where used by all types of branches in the German organisation.

Hi Erwin,
Barracks have had my interest for decades, but have never come across the types you mention. Do you have a complete list?

Barracks got my attention recently for a 3D project. So far what I have found is that in the pre-war area there was a zillion (pun intended) of models made by the same amount of manufactures. As always with the Germans a standardisation followed quickly.
More of interest for me is the Reichsarbeitsdienst. They created several types which are well known now, like the above picture. Probably the most used building in the Atlantikwall. But sadly best known as the 'barracks' in KZ lagers.

The typical Mannschaftsbarracke / Mannschaftshause consistent of prefab building blocks. One block designated as RL IV/1 could be extended in length with 2 blocks designated as IV/2, with 3 blocks IV/3, to in theory unlimited length. In occupied territory the prefab materials were delivered to local contrators and where put together by them under supervision of the Germans.

The types I found so far in documents are:
RL IV
RL V
RL VII
Waschbaracke mit Dusche; RL XVIII
Aborthaus; RL Xa

Attached is a render of a RL IV/3 used in Farmsum. But I'm planning to re model the barracks soon wich shows how those pre-fab buildings were constructed.

Hi,
Interesting document, many thanks for sharing. I have never seen any of these types in use in Luftwaffe sites, and I suppose they are Heer specific.
