I think we need to read III./Rgt Leuze i.e. 3rd battalion (not a company since a Roman numeral) of Regiment Leuze.

There was indeed a German high ranking officer named Walther Leuze in Le Havre, better known as Generalmajor Leuze, Festungskommandant Le Havre from February 1943 to March 1944.
But more importantly here, I think, is the fact that Leuze was commanding officer of I.R. 687 (336 I.D.) from April 1941 to April 1942 (source: article from Alain Chazette about Gen. Leuze in Magazine 39/45 No. 197). And the 336 ID occupied Le Havre and the area from May 1941 to May 1942, therefore, at the same time as Leuze commanded IR 687.

From this information, I deduct that:
III./Rgt Leuze makes sense
It refers to III./IR 687 with IR 687 commanded by Leuze
The pictures were probably taken then between May 1941 and April 1942.

Emmanuel
Oberst Walther Leuze was C.O. of 687. Inf.Rgt. from 1.4.1941 to 20.4.1942 (ranked 1.4.1942 Generalmajor)
Came back as Feldkommandant 517 (not Festungskommandand) from 6 june 44 to 15.8.1944.
then Kdt Korück Panzer AOK 5 15.8.1944 - 25.8.1944
Best regards

Hi Jos,

The bunkers are a 629 build along Sas Quinette de Rochemont and in the background right, 2 of the 3 shelters 622 build on the Quai des Remorqueurs.

The bunkers 622 belong to HaH 046 according to several German maps. For the 629, it's not clear : HaH 046 or Hafen Mitte

Please fin attached an extract from an aerial view dated October 1944 (from Remonter le temps website).

Regards from Rouen,

Sébastien

Dear Emmanuel

This bunker was situated near the lock between "bassin Bellot" and "bassin de l'Eure", along "quai Renaud". The quai with cranes in the background is "quai des Transatlantiques". I have no more information about this bunker. Only a small part remains on the picture you posted : the picture was taken during the demolition of the bunker. Please have a look on this extract from an aerial photo dated may 1945 (from Remonter le temps website).

Greetings from Rouen

Sébastien
