Local steelworks 'Grouville Forge' are currently contracted to make the large box as well as the 4 rungs which will allow the completion of the lower mounting! :D
All the bits are finished and the first 2 rungs were tried out in position tonight!

The next job will be to trim down the yellow pipe ready to mount the lower platform box once the the rungs have been fitted to it :D

Hi all,

Its been a while since I did any work on the replica M19 (didn't realise it was over 2 years 8O ), But things are moving again with the plates to make the upper platform being cut, and since the photo was taken below, have had the access hatches cut out. Also the supporting frame for the upper platform is under construction as well 8-)

Watch this space

Malcolm :milwink:

Hi all,

Today the basic parts for the upper platform were fitted into place 8-)

The platform is static and is positioned so the hatch you see at the front is the crew access hatch while the one at the back right is the intended hole for the ammunition hoist (never fitted). I chose this position as the weapon is firing to the left and I am guessing it would have been left in this position so it was easily accessed during an alarm.

Regards,
Malcolm :milwink:

You must have with all that material you can "organize"

Again very, very nice job done at Corbiere Malcolm - respect!!

kstdk.

PS: When you are done, you may come to Silkeborg, we do have a couple of bunkers we would like to restore.

Hi all,

For those of you who follow the 'Strongpoint Corbiere, Jersey' group page on Facebook, you will know that this project is very much on going - but for those of you that don't, here is a couple of photos showing the nearly completed lower half of the mortar mounting 8-)

Unfortunately they have downloaded on their sides :?

Regards,
Malcolm :milwink:
