Re: Skoda AA Gun
I have come across German lists of guns in the spring of March and April 1944 on the Atlantikwall that mention the following gun:
8.35 cm Flak M33(t).
I though only a 7.65 cm version of Flak M33(t) existed as 7.65 cm Flak M33(t) - ex- Skoda 8 cm M28 AA gun.
Was the 8.35 cm Flak M33(t) a derivative of the 8.35 cm Flak M22(t) ?

Re: Skoda AA Gun
Hello,
A point about the muzzle brake of these AA guns.
I read that some people write "Schneider model muzzle brake".
The right name for this muzzle brake is "Frein de bouche GB" (in french manuals only this name is used to design this muzzle break).
The "GB" letters mean "Gaillaud et Bory", this is the name of the two french inventors of this muzzle brake used in 75 mm french A.A guns modèle 1928, modèle 1931 and others guns (155 mm modèle 1932, etc...). These inventors worked on the "frein de bouche" since first world war. These "GB" muzzle brake were used by french guns made in State works and also used on Schneider and Skoda models. In 1920-1930 years, Schneider controled financially Skoda and the two firms had a strong co-operation (including divided contracts between Europa and other parts of the world for Skoda and Schneider sale of guns).
Yours sincerely,
Guy François.

Re: Skoda AA Gun
I am looking for performance data on this Yugoslav 8cm(76,5 mm) M.36 AA gun:
I suppose that it employed the same heavy shell of 8.1 kg as the M. 28. in M.28 it had 700m/s
?

Re: Skoda AA Gun
Those were the Vickers 7.5 tl no.1 ones delivered 1936 onward.
the Skoda 7.5 tl no.2 were ordered 1 Dec 1939 with Skoda Werke for 20 batteries of 4 guns, including 140.000 rounds 20 (Skoda) fire-control units 17 Alti-meters. Due to the German nationalization claim of the factory only 3 batteries of 4 guns and 11.000 rounds were delivered.
2 batteries were introduced to the land forces or air defence command in April and one in May 1940. Fire control equipment was not avaialable so improvised Vickers-Armstrong fire-control units reinforced with the new Hazemeijer Fire -control set.

The images from the link are not 7.5cm Skoda Vz.37 but Bofors M37 Swedish guns...

Re: Skoda AA Gun
Ah Sturm78, I thought as much and will start discussing this with the owner of the site, as they seem to have one of the correct models in their 75 yrs remenbrance book. And thank you I didn't pin it to be a Bofors M37.
Do you have more pictures of the Skoda 7.5 tl no.2 in Dutch use? So far 2 and the maybe of Jos' The Hague Picture. I was put of the scent as the Finish Jäger website specifically mentioned the single axle 2 wheel pneumatic tyre transport.
Another question. Do you still have access to the Rotterdam Waalhaven film? I tried to follow the link, but couldn't find it back in the archive. That would be a unique piece of historical material!
