It's Comos or Komos - entrance is a bit left from the embrasure.

In Hersonissos also stollen in rocky peninsula in harbour. In Agios Galini a sculpturer's workshop seems to be a cave for a PaK flanking the harbour, "leitstand" resembles R697 but with entrance on the side, and with 1 underground floor added. In Kokkino Chorio also a lot of bunkers seem to be found between houses (hurry up, area is being overtaken by multiple developers), Leitstand and battery emplacements are a must-see. Along Tavronitis - Kolimvari beach - numerous rs58c and stands for 38(t) turrets heavily damaged by the sea. And finally - Labirynth - THE Labirynth - the cave complex from ancient times, being a source of all the legends about a Minotaur, transformed by Germans into huge munitions storage, actually blown up and dangerous inside (not been there, I would be very interested to see a plan of German-transformed part). Etc, etc, a lot still to be found, described and visited.
That is great Herring. Dou you have more precise locations? Do you have those photo of Platanias PaK?

Yes 173 pages of text, diagrams and maps regarding Reisebericht Südost, Jan Feb and Juli 1943. Also sheets with photos of the defences around Chania. Unfortunately bad quality copies.

Interesting is the designation 'Kretabauweise' for Tobruks and other emplacements.

Just a guess
So they used less steel, maybe because There is alot of rock in the ground?
So they could use less in the walls..

@ Ondrej:

Zdravim :-),

I couldn't find the Platanias 4,7cm photo. As I remeber, it was in the cliff, similar as in Agia Galini (which is about 20m high) , but much lower and in a bit bigger distance from the beach. I've seen it in a sort of a blog , not focused very much on fortifications. In Platanias there is also underground complex (under Agios Dimitrios church) , and some bunkers above it.
You're going to Crete for a holiday?

I was at Crete and now I try to make public map of fortifications to help everybody. Because searching of those information is terrible work.

About Platanias - I did not see any clif here (if you mean Platanias near Chania).

Hi Herring,

could it be the Georgiopuli PAK Scharstenstand? The location is at the map.

I have found exact location of one Ringstand at Tavronitis - Kolimvari beach (see the map).

Hello,

No, it's a bit strange bunker, I guess it's Pak bunker, resembles older German structures from 1930's, or a bit a LAG bunkers.
Bushes to the right above the church - it's an entrance to the schartenstand made in rock, stairway goes up to the observation point (?) - bushes exactly above the red arrow.
