Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
No idea where is this, but it seems to be typical old Krupp gun design of horizontal wedge block breech mechanism and additional ring to reinforce loading chamber. I guess bigger caliber than 28 cm?
Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
Comparing hole diameter of the breech with the soldier is possible to be 38 cm.

Hello
It is inside a casemate Friedrich August with a 30,5 cm SKL/50 . Notice
the counterweight , Leitwelle and the roof above the loading area .

Photo Berliner Verlag published in December 1940.
Is it a gun being installed in a coastal battery in a German-occupied country?

At least 4 possible batteries in Norway, but the timeline (fall 1940) don't fit, being too early for the installations.Manuferey wrote:Photo Berliner Verlag published in December 1940.

Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
I agree with the identification of the gun.
It could be battery "Hipper" which was installed in October 1940 at Memel - re. my post of 06 Jun 2017 09:51 in this topic.

First one is Todt, second is Lindemann.
Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
Thanks, AvB. I think that the gun turret is the same so the difference is the bunker, is it not?AvB wrote

The turrets differ, the lower one has a straight front and top while the upper one is more sloped.
Also take a close look at the embrasures, they have different forms. On the lower picture, the form of the embrasure follow the turret's form (or vice versa).
