Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
My best guess is that it is a 170 MM L40 M 89 on Flakfort Copenhagen, Denmark.
Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
Hello Sturm78, hello ROLAND1369,
this could also be a german island.
They have wrote on the gun:
KANONEN MITNEHMEN VERBOTEN!
DER INSELVOGT.
(It's forbidden to take the guns away!
Lord (?) of the island.)
Was there a 170 mm L40 gun in "Schirmlafette" on a german island?
Or was it only a joke, german soldiers wrote on the danich gun?

Hi Sturm78
Your first picture looks a 75 mm A.L.K. L/30 M.14/16 with a bigger gun in the back ( looks the rivits )
and the second one could be a 15 cm S.K.L/55 but I am not 100% sure about that one .
Regards Jos

Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
There is some kind of device (recoil mechanism?) on top of the breach that the 15 cm SK L/55 does not normally have.jopaerya wrote:and the second one could be a 15 cm S.K.L/55 but I am not 100% sure about that one. Regards Jos
The other gun on the left is a French 7,5 cm CA Mle 1922 type naval gun. So the bigger coastal gun could also be either French or Polish.

Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
Hello
Could the picture "Coastal Gun.jpg" by Sturm be from Middelgrunds Fortet:
http://www.dr.dk/nyheder/htm/baggrund/t ... 20bruddet/
The other from Denmark could be Masnedø fort with 4 x 12 cm. h.S.K. L/45 M/12 which were removed in 1940?
Though I dont think the schield looks the same??

Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
Hi Emmanuel
Maybe the larger gun is a Bofors gun ( 12 cm ) ??

Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
Jos,
I think it could be instead a Bofors 152 mm M1930 (15,2 cm SK L/55).
See the bottom post of this thread and the following page:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 3&start=45.
Look at the last picture: there seems to be a recoil cylinder above the breach and the barrel shape matches.
This gun, along with the French 75 mm AA gun could have captured in Hela.
See the post of 07 Aug 2011 here for the French AA gun and the previous page: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... &start=915 )
This could explain how the guns ended up next to each other on the picture.

Hi.
I'm sorry to say, that I can't help identifying those guns, but I can say without any doubt, that none of the pictures are from Masnedøfort in Denmark.
