Hello Sturm78

Thanks for the very nice picture , I think it's M.K.B. Henningsen at Swinemunde ( 4 x 15 S.K.C/28 )

Jos,

That's what I'm thinking too based on the shape of the shield.

Hello ,
Image no 1 :
tricky question because of :
- 17 cm L 40 M 1889
- 17 cm L 40 M 1883
- 24 cm L 40 M 1889
- 30,5 cm L 40 M 1893
all have very simliar gunhouse , but a quess will be :
- 24 cm Krupp L 40 M 1889 at Trekroner Fort
image no 2 :
28 cm Krupp KL /40 M1889 at the Main Battery ,
Oscarsborg Fortress

Or a 28 cm battery in Norway? Like MKB 3./513 in Kiberg?

Separately, since it is November 11 today, WW1 Armistice Day in Europe and Veterans Day in the US, let us not forget all the horrors of artillery bombardment in WW1.

Hello Emmanuel

That is also a option , but the Hochleitstand made me think that is was the German coast .

Wise words about the WW1 Armistice Day in Europe and Veterans Day in the US .

This picture probably shows a 28 cm SKL/45 or 28 cm SKL/50 battery in the winter of 1939/40 - before most of these batteries were scattered all over Europe. Might be any battery, but the resemblance of the Bettungschiessgerüst with those at Kiberg indicates that this might be Batterie Grosser Kurfürst (28 cm SKL/50) in Pillau. The BSG from this battery ended up at Kiberg (28 cm SKL/45) when Grosser K. received its more modern C/37 gun turrets.

Thanks JEF

There are a few options for this photo with "Kesselbettung"

M.K.B. Graf Spee at Wangerooge with 28 cm S.K.L/40 ??
M.K.B. Goeben at Swinemunde with 28 cm S.K.L/45
M.K.B. Prinz Heinrich at Fehmarn with 28 cm S.K.L/45
M.K.B. Grosser Kürfurst at Pillau with 28 cm S.K.L/50
M.K.B. Coronel at Borkum with 28 cm S.K.L/50

Regards Jos
