Hello - 711 was an schwere Artillerie-Abteilung since 1939 until the end of the war - never a number of a Railway-Battery
Hi Uwe, in the book "Eisenbahnartillerie" of Guy Francois. pag.95 is cited a E.711 batterie with 3x 37cm Haubitze (f)...but this could be an error.... :?

On the other hand I need help with this artillery shell. I would say French...22cm caliber perhaps....220mm Schneider Mle 1917 gun ??

RE #677 Post 18 Feb 2020, 21:49 I concur that this is a 220 MM based on the number of rotating rings and their distance from the base as well as the markings.

Thank you, ROLAND. Do you know if this shell was used with the 220mm Schneider Mle 1917 gun ?

On the other hand, I need help with these japanese heavy artillery shells.

#683 Post Yesterday, 22:19 Yes, the second drawing came from a manual on the 220 mm m 1917 gun. I am unsure as to whether this shell is interchangeable with the 220 MM MORTAR (TR) Mle 1916 Schneider.

Nobody for the Japanaese shells ??

Well, here another image from Ebay.
I think these shells are similar those to the image posted on 23 Feb 2020, so I think they are 10.5cm Flak shells...
