I agree.
The shells for a lg 21 cm Mörser are about 80 cm high, there´s no way that soldier is leanign on a 80 cm long shell.
A 25 cm schwere Springmine is just over 1 m long, however, it has a pre cut drivingband, which i do not see on the picture.
Both 28 cm Granate 12 (28 cm Mörser), 1 m long, and 30,5 cm Langgranate (1,05 m long, for the 30,5 cm chwerer Küstenmörser) have the same appearence as the shells in the picture, but they had a base fuze.

Post nr. 702: these are indeed HE rounds for 3,7 cm SK.C/30

Post nr. 704: first picture is in the wrong catagory, those are bombs.

Post 694: no idea, but looks like a british naval shell missing it's cap.
Post 696: impossible to say, but i think french , Obus de 220 mm explosif mod 1914.
Post 697: french, Obus de 220 mm explosief en acier mod 1915-D, ballistic caps are missing.
Post 699: german 7,5 cm Kw.K. rounds, the soldier is holding either a HE 7,5 cm Gr.Patr. Kw.K. or 7,5 cm Nbgr.Patr Kw.K. smoke round, next to his feet on the right are hollow charge rounds, most likely 7,5 cm Gr.Patr. 38 Kw.K.

Post 695 shows shells for the 80 cm K (E), a HE shell standing, and a proof shot lying horizontally. I suspect this picture was taken in Hillersleben.

Thanks for your answers, Zünder

The identification of the exact model of the artillery shells or only the identification of their caliber from the old wartime photos is a rather complicated task ... and more for a non-expert person, as is my case...

Soviet ammunition. I think that the large artillery shells are 152mm G-530 and F-542 for the ML-20 howitzer. Is this correct ?
About the mortar grenades I think 50mm for PM-38 mortar....Anyone ?

The hand greandes are RGD-33

Hi all,

I found this image on Ebay.
Can someone help me with these projectiles.
In the image the caliber is written but not the weapon for which they were intended

42cm shell: for Krupp M-Gerät L12 howitzer ??
30.5cm shell: for Skoda M11 howitzer ??
38cm shell and cratridge: for SK L45 Max ??
