Hello Jos

Thank you for this link. Of course, Vladivostok fortress is very interesting place :)

But I think, we could return to Baltic coast and discuss B-13's captured and used by Germans

There were 9 batteries with 34 130 mm guns in the Coast Defence of Baltic District in early September 1941:

Most of these guns were destroyed in battles, or exploded by their crews being encircled. It is not a problem to find photos of the guns from the Baltic islands. Here 2 photos from Ösel (source = e-bay.de) :

And a video from «Die Deutsche Wochenschau» newsreel, Nr. 582, 29.10.1941 — 130-mm B-13 gun, battery No. 43, Ösel, 1941:

In Reval (Tallinn) there were three 130 mm L/55 in improvized railway mountings. They are out of this topic, I think :)
After capturing Reval, Germans repaired some of old batteries and employed new ones for coast defence. Of course, it was wise enough to use captured guns there. Probably, some of them were taken back by Soviets in 1944 :)
Some months ago there was an excellent photoset at e-bay with many photos taken between Reval and Leningrad. In several photos there was B-13 gun with older edged-style shield:

Hi Denis

I have only a batterie list from the M.A.A. 530 in 1945 in the Baltic States , in the
same book there is also a plan of the M.A.A. 530 during the Siege of Leningrad .

Nice to see the M.K.B. Prinz Heinrich in the early days at Pas de Calais and M.K.B.
Blucher sisterbatterie of the E-Bahn batterie Gneisenau and the M.Fl.A. 239 .

Do you know if there are any German fortifications left in your "backyard" ?

Hello Jos

Thank you, the plan is of great interest :)

They are, of course. Some of them are in 20-minutes-walk distance from my home — almost exactly in the «backyard» :D
There are two threads from Russian forums with several photos:
http://www.fortification.ru/oldforum/in ... 201&page=0
http://vif2ne.ru/nvk/forum/arhprint/1164720

I remember also two small concrete pedestals with mounting rings of approx. 60 cm diameter quite close to coastline in Michailowka (Korkuli) and Peterhof. They are likely to be for AA and landing defence purposes there. In Michailowka it was near of an old wooden bunker, trenchlines and old pine with remains of a ladder on it — as it was an observation post on the tree.

Hi Jopaerya,

M.K.B. Blucher railway artillery Kriegsmarine battery with 2X15cm guns??

I did not know this railway battery. According with my sources ("Eisenbahnartillerie" book of Guy Francois especially),
there was only one Kriegsmarine railway battery armed with 4X15cm SK L/45 (batterie Gneisenau), that was used in Pas de Calais and the french Mediterranean coast.

According to this book, the german army used also one railway battery with 4X15cm K E (E. batterie 655) though
according to "German artillery of World War Two" book of Ian V. Hog, were produced 18 15cm SK C/30 guns in 1937-38.

I just know 15cm L60 SK C/25, 15cm L55 SK C/28, 15cm L48 SK C/36 of WW2 and 15cm L45 SK L/45, 15 cm L40 SK L/40 and 15 cm L45 Tbts KL/45 of WW1 naval guns. no C/30??

see http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNGER_Main.htm

Someone has more info?

Regards Sturm78.

Hi Sturm78

The information on the Eisenbahnbatterie Blucher is from the Book from von Harnier who had many
information from personel from several M.A.A. and other troops , also in the book end 1943 the
batterie was relocated at Kunda (Estonia) . There is no information in the book what type of 15 cm
it was .

The serial number of the remaining gun is "463" if anyone can pull something from that?
A bit late, but found this note about 463 :-)

Thanks Stril

First class information , so two guns were replaced at the M.K.B. Nordfjord after the raid .
Funny to read that even the Germans were a bit suprised about the difference's of the L/50 and L/55
