M 120 in Norway

#1

Post by jopaerya » 10 Dec 2008, 13:58

Hello

The M 120 is a naval command post normely used for medium caliber guns like the 15-17 cm .
But it looks that in Norway the M 120 was also used for the heavy caliber guns like the
M.K.B. Lödingen 30.5 cm and M.K.B. Husoen 28 cm ???

Hello

There are one M120 at MKB Husöen. Attached picture was taken earlier this year.
Agian, almost as usual here in Norway it does not follow the plans. The entrance is a stairway leading down to it with no entrance defence.

Hello C-Hoff

Do you know if the lay-out of the bunker is exact the same as the standard M 120 ??
I have heard that some M 120 in Norway have a entrance on the side of the bunker
i.s.o. in the back of the bunker .

Hello agian Jos

The layout is the same. The entrance is in the back of the bunker.
The only difference (Looking in the Rudi Rolf Typology book) is that the rigth wall in room 21 is a little closer to the door. The stairway leads to room 1 - gaslock. Room 2 - entrancedefence is not there.

There are one M120 at MKB 1/ 506 Brettingen as well. This one has the entrance at the side. It enters room 20 (Rudi Rolf book)
This bunker is locked so I havent been inside it.

Glad to help.
Do you have a picture/plan of how the floor to the cuopolas was?
The floor construction on the one at Husöen was gone so it was high up to the ceiling.

Hello C-Hoff

This drawing is not from a M 120 , but from a fore-runner of this bunker but the lay-out of the
wooden level is the same as in the M 120 , sometimes you can see the end of the bars sticking
out of the concrete were the wooden planking was placed on .

Some OT-drawings of the M120. Poor quality due to large format drawings (hard to get good photos), poor light and of course the reduction/compression to fit within the forum's filesize-limits:

Hello Ben

I don't know so much about Artillery Fire Control Equipment , but here some pages with some equipment from heavy batterie's.
Looks to me the system works the same but the equipment would be larger for the heavy batterie's ??
