Re: What is this gun?
This seems to be the same gun but viewed from the front (source: ebay.de). It looks like a 7,5 cm FK38 but with a different wave pattern on top of the shield.

Re: What is this gun?
Great find, thank you!
It could be a forerunner of the FK18.

Re: What is this gun?
I think that the uniforms on the ebay picture are polish. If it’s the case, the gun could indeed be a 7,5 cm FK18 called 7,5 cm leFK18 by the Poles. See here:

Re: What is this gun?
No, the web site deals with September Campaign of 1939 and this gun is described in the "German Weapons" section.
The gun is called 7,5 cm leFK 18 L/26 in "Die deutschen Geschuetze 1939-1945" by von Senger und Etterlin indeed.
Regards
Grzesio

Re: What is this gun?
OK, thats solved then.
But our piece is not the lFK18.
It has a different shield and a boxtrail. Besides we have no good view of the gun itself so we can not estimate the calibre long.
It must be a forerunner to the FK18.

Re: What is this gun?
Hi All
Is it the same gun as discussed here
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0#p1523196
and
http://www.network54.com/Forum/330333/t ... ry+weapons
Clive
PS It does have many features that were to be seen on many later German guns.

Hi Clive,
Yes, it is the same gun. We still haven't found its designation.
Here is a link on the IWM site with a sharper picture than the one posted by nuyt at the beginning of this thread. According to IWM, the picture was taken during field maneuvers of the Reichswehr in 1932:
http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205023019
And here is another picture of this gun from ebay.com that shows details of the front portion:

Fuzzy shot from exp. eBay.de auction http://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_from=R40 ... 324&_rdc=1 Is it just me or does the barrel look shorter and shield different from previous photos and what's that roller under the recoil brake?

We are not looking at a 7.5cm FK 18 in this picture? Just trying to eliminate all possibilities.
