Hi Clive & Uwe,

And thanks for the suggestion but IMO the fuzzy piece has proportions different from the FK 18. My guesstimate is that the muzzle protrudes ca. twice the distance from the shield the recuperator front does whereas the FK 18 muzzle in the pics I've seen looks to be quite close to the recuperator c.f. e.g. http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... &p=1700723. Even FK 18's export version appears to have different proportions, photo at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Krupp ... _M1937.jpg . Also the fuzzy's trail leg(s?) seem straighter to me than FK 18's folding legs.

Regards,
Markus

It's def the improved 10,5cm of the Reichswehr, compare with the many pics on the Overvalwagen thread mentioned above, including that round thing left of the barrel (dont know what it is, but it shows on other pics too).

Thanks Nuyt,

Guess the fact that the photo is not exactly sharp makes the shield look odd to me.

BTW, anyone happen to have a pic of the leichte Feldhaubitze 16 für reitende Batterien (le FH 16 rt Battr); A 10,5 cm howitzer occasionally mentioned in equipment tables but one I have never seen in a captioned photo?

Regards,
Markus

Was it called an Erla or photographed in Erla? Note how the other shots are captioned after the howitzer type. From. exp. eBay.de.

i think this gun was called "Gerät 10" - i read about it in Waffen-Arsenal 125 - the gun itself is a 10,5 cm leichte Feldhaubitze (18) with wheels of le.F.H. 16 and different shield
it was manufactured in a "versuchs- und erprobungsserie"

Thanks Uwe, but that one sounds more like the 10,5cm lFH 18 version that ended up in Turkish service:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/330333/m ... 1186609700
I would say the lFH fuer Reitende Batterien is the correct one for the updated lFh16

the 10,5cm lFH 18 version that ended up in Turkish service - no, Gerät 10 had Spreizlafette and not Kastenlafette

ok, sounds like a third unknown gun besides the lFH 16 derivatieve on this thread (no Spreiz, but Kasten similar in design to 15cm SIG33 and the 7,5cm infantry gun 18). By the way there was also a 10,5cm infantry gun, not taken into service.

Hello

i found this for 1940 - creation of Infanterie-Divisions 10th wave

the light batterys of their Art. Abt. were equipped with le.F.H. 16, le.F.H. 16 (Erla) and le.F.H. 18

only 270. Inf.Div. get "Erla"

---

so this gun is a le.F.H. 16 "Erla"

no idea what Erla means....

Think you're right, Uwe.

Also according to http://www.39-45.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=19181 Btr 1./Res.Art.Abt.7 had six 10,5 cm le.F.H. 16 Erlas.
