Norway bought 18 x 10,5 cm posisjonskanon L/28,8 M / 1904 from Cockerill , . The German
designation 10,5 cm Kanone 337 ( n) ) . Notice the Nordenfelt eccentric screw . 3 x guns
are intact in Oslo area .

Is it known where and when this picture of the Cockerill was taken? I see troops that could be German Gebirgsjaëger and vehciles in the distance that could be RSOs. For some reason I think this could be SE Europe. Were some Cockerills taken there from Norway? Or is it today's sun that blinds?

7 x in coastal role , Norway
5 x in Sweden
= 18 x guns
The photo is claimed to be at Murmansk front .

Ah, that explains it, but why 5 guns in Sweden? And what about the same 8 guns from Schneider?

1) 5 x guns in Sweden ??? Most of 10,5 cm Cockreills were based at Hoytorp Fortress
near the swedish border . After Germany advance in 04 . 1940 some Army units crossed
( fled ) into Sweden .

During the WW II the guns were used both as coast artillery and field artillery . The first
two costal batteries were at Mandal and Farsund . The Germans did not have any own Gerät
number for this gun .

The second 10,5 cm Cockerill is located inside the Norwegian Armed forces museum
at Akerhus , Oslo . Notice this is the orginal version with two wooden wheels , link :
