Hello,

any idea about the gun placed in the Istanbul military museum. Early armoured ship gun? Fortress gun?. Which kind of breech is it and from which period?

Thanks
Ondrej

Guys, may I return you back to muzzle loading guns time?
This is about 15 cm smooth bore barrel preserved in Yantai (China) but unknown designation and provenance.

Most likely one of the fest type German fortresses around Metz.

To be exact - German turrets P.T.96, the version with the reinforced long barrel. This version has been used at feste Kaiser Wilhelm II (Batterie 6) near Strasbourg and at Metz (feste Van der Goltz, Wagner and Kronprinz).
