Re: Wich kind of flakgun ist this one?
The gun in my picture is marked with "apt", if this is a manufacturer code, then it was made by " F.M. Hämmerle, Werk Dornbirn/Vorarlberg [A]".Sturm78 wrote:Which was the manufacturer of these guns for the German Wehrmacht?

The Waffenamt number is 160, I can't find this in any lists.

I checked out F.M. Hämmerle, it's a "textilwerke", so probably not the manufacturer.

Hello Asbjørn
I thought the Oerlikon flak 29 was made in the early stages of the war
but your photo shows production in 1943 .

Re: Wich kind of flakgun ist this one?
The model is given as Flak 29 apt. the full stop in my opinion making the apt. an abbreviation. Possibly it stands for aptiert. The gun might have been modified in 1943 and restamped accordingly.

Re: Wich kind of flakgun ist this one?
I know there is at least 1, maybe more, 20mm Oerlikon AA guns emplaced in the Netherlands, near camp Amersfoort I believe.
The site was first a Dutch army base, I believe, then taken over by the Wehrmacht and later turned into a KZ run by the SS if memory serves me well.
who placed them there, I think the Germans but i'm not sure

Re: Wich kind of flakgun ist this one?
And I have even better question.
WHAT Oerlikon gun was adopted by the Germans as the 2 cm Flak 28 in 1928?
Gander & Chamberlain give its original name as Oerlikon FF, what is impossible, I think, as the FF version was developed in mid 1930s only.
The only hard clue, given unisono by all authors is the muzzle velocity of 835 m/s - what suggests Oerlikon Typ S (L/70). And this barrel length - 1400 mm - is given by Mueller in e.g. "Die leichte und mittlere Flak".
But in other books the barrel length of German Oerlikons is commonly given as 60 calibres, what suggests Oerlikon Typ L, but accompanying muzzle velocity of 835 m/s is to high then.
Any ideas...?
