Erik E has written an article on the bunkers for the site that you might find interesting: http://www.skalman.nu/third-reich/equipment-bunkers.htm

Erik, your pictures are fantastic indeed! One question: you wrote something like that tank turrets were used only at airfields - did you mean by that Norway only, or Atlantikwall in general? I ask this because I found this picture of Cherbourg that shows a thing looking like a French tank turret which may however be stripped of it's main gun.

The article is mainly from my "field experiences" in Norway.
In Norway, you find as many as 30-40 turrets surrounding a single airport, while brigdes and harbours often just have a few.
Another strange detail, is that I have only seen French tankturrets used outside airports..... Never a German!?
You are correct about the photo. I`ts a French FT-17 turret.

As one of my particular interests is exploring the bunkers of the Atlantikwall,as well as the history behind them, I just want to say that you have some nice bunkers there.Especially the one with the PzKpfw II turret. :)
