Post by jopaerya » 03 Feb 2009 18:16

Hello All

Here some photo's from the installation of the 30.5 cm S.K.L/50 in the Regebau 35 at Ottenhöfen
in the Westwall , strange is that the Bereitschaftzraum is not the same as the Regelbau 35 ??

Photo's = Ebay.de

Great photos!! :D

Are these the same guns used in the Batterie von Schröder in Wangerooge island? (6X30.5cm SK L50)
How many guns had the Bat. Ottenhöfen?
After the Western Campaign of 1940, 3 of these guns were used in the Batterie Friedrich August in Calais no??

Regards Sturm78.

Hello Sturm78

The Bat Ottenhöfen had 3 x 30.5 S.K.L/50 and were coming from the M.K.B. Friederich-August
from Wangerooge ( Stand 1938 ) and were after the Westwall period place at La Tresorerie
just north of Boulogne with also 3 x 30.5 cm guns .
The M.K.B. von Schröder also with 3 x 30.5 cm S.K.L/50 were placed at Helgioland , I don't
know if these guns were also from Friederich-August ( Wangerooge ) .

Were the emplacements, after the transfer of the guns to Friedrich-August (Tresorerie), just deserted?

Hello Arthur

In the book "Der Westwall" it's stated that in 1944 there are still 2 x Regelbau 35 ?? not 3 ??

The answer is that while an additional gun was moved when the battery moved to France only 2 305 MM were sent to the westwall. This is covered in Rudi Rolfs "Der Atlanticwall. page 8, footnote 15

Hi Roland 1369

Thanks for the reply , yes most information indicates that there were only 2 x 30.5 cm S.K.L/50
in the Westwall . I based my conclusion on this document , please see the note .

Hello Uwe

Are you sure about your last picture is the 30.5 cm S.K.L/50 guns at Ottenhöfen ?
The first red arrow shows a retriever ?? and the roof construction is typical .

The camouflaged gun looks like a 15 cm sFH18.
