Hi
(10 cm steel, equals 100 cm concrete! Westwall is the begining, therefore very simple. No tank could penetrate it)
If the plate is thinner then it should be, could just mean that the scharte is facing away from the "haupt kampflinie".
Therefore no need to use 10 cm thick plate on the "back"-side.
Look at the map and find out why.
Kind regards
Tommy

Hi Tommy,
that is correct!

The combat room with the 7P7 is frontal to the enemy, the combat room with the 10P7 is flanking to the next bunkers.

Here are some new pics from the "Lüftungsbleche" (Ventilation sheet) or so called "Winterbleche", we build new and installed them at the scharten.

coming to see the westwall would be a joy, i just dont have the time or the cash at the mo, i am planning on taking a trip round some of the Atlantic wall and possibly doing the westwall after, i am a bit of a fortress nut, dunno why they just fascinate me.

Hi Friends,

Iam almost searching for parts to komplete the bunker.

So my most wanted are the "Haltebacken" for "Schartenschieber" and "Sehschlitzschieber" and a part of a Panzertür 882P7 (higher or lower part)

Means this parts:

the door
(picture is linked on AvB´s side bunkerside.com)

and the Haltebacken

Hope Ron reads this forum too Markus ;)

Is it possible to make copies of the Haltebacken, they don't seem very complex to make new.

Hello Arthur,

yes, its possible- but the steel, the works and so on are so expensive, that I could
buy some parts- if I get some... because I didn´t have the opportunities for making it myself.

Hope I can get some parts from the guys here- my last chance.
Parts at the Westwall are very rare since it is mostly under Denkmalschutz.

That is good for the protection of the bunkers- but bad for the restoring of them...
