You're absolutely right !!!

Of course - another mistake in the description of the photo in the book. Optical illusion - gun appears to be smaller than it actually is. This isn't a good idea to suggest the descriptions on the pictures :cry: After carefully watching the pictures, I think too, it's a probably ex-Soviet 76,2 mm F-22 ... convinced me, especially top shape of shield and barrel.

To compare: two images of 76,2mm F-22 guns captured by the Germans soldiers.

The later I think Sturm. Have you noticed the towing vehicle ? I believe it is a British Morris converted to the "Pakwagen" style.

I agree with Alan: 4,2 cm le.PaK 41. We can see in particular the riveted plate on the shield above the barrel.

I forgot to add that the troops appear to be Gebirgsjäger, even though they aren't wearing mountain boots.

During the search, a box was found, guns 4,2cm pak 41. According to the documents in this place were 12 guns 4.2 cm
