"Inpaint" for removing the lines, "paint" to retouch the picture. I can do better, when i load this image in GIMP (also free programm and as good as paintshop). But Gimping takes a lot of time :-)

I used to post pictures from my WWII Collection on forums like AHF. Some with watermarks or markings, just to see that some complained about it. Also some removing the markings as you guys seems to remove it with ease with the picture above.
I dont mark my pictures anymore when posting on forums, i just do as many collectors do. I dont post the whole picture, and also remove details from it. Below are one of those posted on AHF. Nothing special about the picture, and nothing special about the removed items :-)

Hello Stril,

The best way to protect ure picture is placing a small paper nameplate over the picture, as you often see on Ebay, this isnt possible to remove because you cant know what is behind it. small lines and watermarks are easy to remove

i have a pretty large collection myself from WW2 in Antwerpen, but i dont post the best of them at all on the internet, only after high alteration. I understand it can be frustrating to see "protected" pictures are restored, but that's how time and programs are developing.

Ten years ago we had to hand draw our bunkerplans on paper and place them on paper maps, now we place them on google earth, share the kmz-files and load them into anything that is possible.

Ten years ago, masterpieces of bunkerplans where drawn in 2D in pencil on paper, now we add them into Google Sketchup and draw them over in 3D with ease. We even dont have to mention from where the measurements come, because we created our "own" plan.

I can believe it is very frustrating, but like i said, if the programs (all freeware!) are there, why dont use them?

I'm a huge freeware fan, and everything i create will be shared and i even don't care if my name is written on it. only one rule; have fun while bunker exploring ;-)

Why don't use them? Because you should credit someone's work. Even you yourself don't give a sh*t..
