Hello Manuferey ,
* Many thanks for sharing these interesting photos !
* P1 : Rare the the photograpier have the full designation
at the backside . Notice the loading motor + fuzesetter +
at shell laying to be fuzed . But notice the arm + device
over the range scale + loading motor , this looks a part
of the iternal fittings for a full enveloping shield = thus
this gun / battery is converting into a Deckenschützschild???
* P2+P3 correct observations ! ( it is " Vollrohr " )
Best wishes
ludvig

Hi Ludvig and thanks for your answer.

This was my first thought, but the angle of the photograph made me think after in bigger guns.

Hi all,

I need your help to identify this naval cannon. I'm very confused with this issue. There are a multitude of guns and mounts very similar to each other, with multiple combinations: :? :? German army artillery is simpler!! Obviously I am no expert in naval artillery.

I think in: 10.5cm SK C32 in MPL C/32 or MPL C/30 or perhaps 8.8cm SK C30 on MPL C/30 mount.

Halo Sturm78 ,
J think that your photo shows a :
*10,5 cm S.K.C/32 or another monobloc gun barrel / in German
" Vollrohr " , to indentify it correctly J must see the breech .
The mount is an ordinary 8,8 cm M.P.L.C/30 with four side
land shield attached .
* The German naval artillery is complicated , with few good
written sources , the best avaiable is Campell's book .
* Since you are from Espania , there is some interesting
German guns perserved in Spain and good Spanish
book resources . Look out for minador Jupiter !
* Outside Cadiz you will find a interesting :
Canon antiaero " Krupp " de 10,5 cm UBTS und Tbts. Flak
L/45 sobre montaje M.P.l. C/30 , same mount + same
shield as in your photo , perhaps the same gun ???
* Have you seen the :
Artemio Mortera Perez : La Artilleria Naval en la
Guerra Civil Espanola 1936/39 ???
Salutas

Thank you very much for your response, Ludvig. :D

I recently purchased the books "German naval artillery Vol II and III" of Miroslaw Skwiot (AJ Press), but I think they have a lot of errors and the text is quite confusing. They have good pictures but I think some are erroneously identified.

Hi all,

Two new images for ID.:
I think the following possibilities: 8.8cm SK C/31 L78 on Dopp. LC/31 mount
8.8cm SK C/32 L76 on Dopp. LC/32 mount
10.5cm SK C/33 L65 on Dopp. LC/31g.E. mount

Thanks in advance. Regards Sturm78

Hi Jos,

Which is the difference between 8.8cm Dopp. LC/31 and 8.8cm Dopp. LC/32 mounts?
According to my information the 8.8cm Dopp. LC/31 was used in Deutschland pocket battleships with 8.8cm Flak guns (then 10.5cm Flak) and later german battleships and heavy cruisers with 10.5cm Flak guns and 8.8cm Dopp. LC/32 mounts were use on light cruisers (K-class, Leipzig and Nurberg) with 8.8cm Flak guns.

Hi

- flak batterie.jpg:
Most probably the battery "Lützow" at Skagen/DK in the summer of 1940 - according to the link the picture had the text "Lützow" on the back. The guns were 8,8 cm SK L/76 C32 in Doppellafette C31.

- AA gun naval mount.JPG:
The photo is probably taken during some kind of testing of the carriage. The picture seems to be dated 1935.

Best regards

Hi Jos

I have the information on the gun type from:
Koop, G. & K. P. Schmolke: Die Panzerschiffe der Deutschland Klasse. Bonn 1993.

As this is a spezialized work about the ship type I would concider it more reliable that a general work about naval weaponry.

Hi all,

- flak batterie.jpg:
Well, if the guns of battery Lützow came from the battleship Lutzow, then the guns have to be 8.8cm SK C/31 on Dopp. LC/31. See http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNGER_88mm-78_skc31.htm

- AA gun naval mount.jpg:
I think however the mount of my last photo is probably a 8.8cm Dopp. LC/31g.E, due to cut in the lateral plate. The guns, I do not know
