Hello, I am looking for some help on identifying what I think is a sight from a naval gun.

I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands which I am sure that you will know was occupied by German Forces during the War. My Grandfather stayed in the Island whilst my Grandmother, Mother and Aunt were evacuated to England. After the death of my Grandfather I found this sight (?) in his shed. I am guessing that it is a navel sight as most of the shore batteries in Guernsey were naval.

Any help in identification or suggestions as to anywhere else I should ask would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hello for all,
In this page which I post is very clear defined that the different kind of munition used at caliber 10,5 cm
must be OK with all types of guns from number 1 to 11.
My big query is :
Anybody has an image of 10,5 cm Flak L/45 ?

Best Regards,
Vladalex

Hello Vladalex ,
1) The 4 x black and white photos shows the 8,8 cm Flak L/45 in 8,8 cm MPLC/13
without the thick curved front shield

2) the 4 x drawings looks as 10,5 cm Flak / 45 ( army version ) . It has horisontal
breech block . Used as AA - gun , fixed fortress gun and railway gun .

3) the 10,5 cm Flak L/45 ( very elusive and afraid of cameras ) . Looks much
as the 8,8 cm Flak L /45 with 3 x short top cylinders + the thick curved front
shield , but with a semi - automatic gear to the left ( springbox to left ) . The
gun has a vertical breech ( selbsttätiger Fallblockverschluss ). Some data :
Gun barrel : 1955 kg
Sights : 190 kg
Carriage : 3050 kg
Shield : 2875 kg
