Hello Vladalex

Are you 100% sure , because the gun-house looks for a 12,7 cm SKC/34 in 12,7 cm MPLC/34 ??

Regards Jos

Hello Jos,
I am 100% sure that:
- In the 3 picture's posted by Sturm78 we have turrets, not box-shields
- The guns is 15 cm, most probably of 55 cal , barrel-lenght
- The box-shields from pictures have no any elements of the 12,7 cm SK. C/34

The gun 15 cm SK.C/28 in MPL C/35 was mounted in box-shield not closed on back, slightly like in picture's.
The gun 15 cm Tbts.K. C/36 in Tbts.L. C/36 , first batch was mounted in a box-shield without ventilation-device on top.
The box shield was asimetrically build in the top view and opened on the back, but the muzzle of the barrel was reinforced.

The gun 15 cm Tbts.K. C/36 in Tbts.L. C/36 , second batch was mounted in a box-shield with ventilation-device on top, and the back
closed. The barrel is without muzzle and is like in our pictures.

Let's examine from picture's I have posted the observers windows of the guns. Nothing to look like at 12,7 cm SK.C/34

Regards,
Vladalex

Hello Sturm78 and Jos,
In the picture’s posted by Sturm78 is destroyer Z8 “ Bruno Heinemann “

Z8 “Bruno Heinemann” and her sister ship, the Z5 "Paul Jacobi" were sent on a special mission
to Norway in April 1938 to test the new 15 cm Tbts.K. C/36. gun planned for later classes of
destroyers ( the type 1936A and 1936A Mob, which were the successors of the Type 1936,
itself being the successor of the Type 1934A ).

Bruno Heinemann had been fitted with four of the new weapons, in single turrets
( as the double turrets were not yet complete, and wouldn't be complete until the
introduction of the 1936A Mob class ), but they were removed after gunnery trials
off Ålesund were completed.

Best Regards,
Vladalex

Hello Sturm78,
Another picture of 15cm Tbts.K. C/36 ( L/48 ) with shield without typical protuberance on its upper part, for you.
The picture represents Z23 and is from our forum , section Kriegsmarine ships ...

A shor question : who know how many metrical tone's the open shield for 12,8 cm Flak Zwilling KM40 was designed to be ?

Best Regards,
Vladalex

Hi Nuyt,

I do not know the answer to your question, but give to your attention a very credible, plausible hypothesis.
Uniform is Wehrmacht's officers and some civilians accompanying beside a cannon installed on land. This period may be 1935-1940 when there was still time for cooperation in the field between military and civilian. Most likely after relating how this civilians look at the gun, to see what they, design engineers are required to design, an artillery position , a possible bunker or a possible new cannon.
Again repeat, is a supposition.
Cordial greetings,
Vladalex.

Thanks Vladalex, good line of thinking. I think there are also Kriegsmarine officers? I figured maybe some building contractors looking for big jobs on the Atlantik Wall, could be occupied NW Europe...

One of the gentlemen seems to have a camera or binoculars (in box) in front of his chest, so a demonstration of the gun is also feasible. And it must be cold, all hands are in the pocket.

That's another option: the press! The gentlemen look all over 50 though except the one in front on the back. Maybe in those days press was a very honorable occupation for distinguished gentlemen?
