Hello Jos,

if the westwall suffix system would have been used also for this type, R 143a would be correct.

But honestly I have never seen an original german document showing the groundfloor of this bunker.

Hopefully somebody else can help with a german paper.................

Greetings

Daniel

Hello Jos,

this is the well-known one. But it won't help finding out about the suffixes.....................

Hello

Strangly only thing I could find is the 143b , first document a buildingplan from Walcheren
date is from mid 1944 and the last one a plan of Stp. Blankenberge-Ost with also a 143b ,
both places have only 143 with a entrance defence .

Last drawing = Dirk Peeters

Hi,

Perhaps, with the 143 the b indicates the big entrance defence with 78p9?

Thanks Tim

Your are toppy , still strange that the 143 ( Westwalltype ) was build so late in the war 1944
I have seen on bunkersite.com that one of the 143 in St Nazaire has a turret made in 1943 .

Maybe because it used so little concrete compared to 613/614?
Unless you build it with 3m thick walls..

Hello Arthur

Yes that could be the reason the 143 used only 510 M3 ( R.R. ) and 600 M3 with entrance defence .
The 613 used 810 M3 and the 614 even 1692 M3 concrete also the 143 has very simple lay-out .

the 134 is situated on top of a hill, so that explanes the 3 m. walls, looking at my maps i noticed something funny, as you can see on the attachment.
another baufortschrittskarte of 25-3-45 mentiones only 613 8-) (see abt. siedlung u. bauten by Hans S. page 23)
funny that a slip of the pen is made 2 times

greetings, tim
