Hello

I saw on Kystfort Forum this picture of a 10.5 cm F.K. L/28.8 later called 10.5 cm K.337 (n) according
to Ludwig only 18 guns were delibered from Cockerill , on 03-1944 still 13 guns were in service .

Photo = Werner Wernersen

Thank you Jos. Here is a picture (from ebay.de) taken in Norway of what looks like a 10.5 cm FK L/28 but with wooden wheels.

There are some information and pictures of this gun here: :D

http://www.network54.com/Forum/330333/m ... C5cm+guns-

http://hem.fyristorg.com/robertm/norge/ ... apons.html

They were 105 mm Cockerill-Nordenfeldt Model 1904 called "10.5 cm mobil posisjonskanon m/04" by the Norwegians.

The text on the Fyrisborg website mentions that 105 mm guns for the fortress were bought in 1901 (Schneider-Canet Mle 1901) and 1904 (Cockerill-Nordenfeld M.1904). Since Norway became independent only in 1905, these guns had actually to be bought after 1905 ! Probably a confusion with the Model date.

But no picture of the gun in travelling position for comparison. :cry:

Norway had an armed forces during the Union with Sweden that where almost independent, like rest of Norway.
The field army where under the Swedish Kings operational command and could be deployed outside Norwegian borders but otherwise they acted as independent departments under the Norwegian Government. with own procurement organization and so on. So for instance the Union had a common rifle calibre 6.5*55 but different rifles and innumerable other examples of Norwegian "independence" long before 1905.

I can offer only a slightly more hi-res version of the same photo from L'artillerie Schneider-Canet à l'Exposition universelle de 1900. It seems that the photograph was taken during the tests.
I also can't believe that only one Beute number (337) was given for two different guns.

Hello ,
Norway bought :
8 x 10,5 cm Schneider - Canet M/1901 mobile postion guns , L/28 with a center screw , no Beutenummer

18 x 10,5 cm Cockerill M/1904 mobile postion guns, L28.8 with a Nordenfelt eccentric screw , these
guns are the 10,5 cm K. 337 ( n) with wooden wheels or rubber wheels .
