Three US picture from 1945 showing captured 8.8 cm or 8.5 cm Flak M39(r) guns (hard to see if there is a Zunderstellmachine or not) in Herrlisheim (Alsace – France).

I think you will find this a photo of a 8.8 cm Flak 36 or 37.

Clive,

It's definitely not a 8.8 cm Flak of any kind. I think it's a 7,5 cm Flak L/59 used by Bulgaria.

Ummhhh....it is posible but I see some differences:

Cruciform platform centered with pedestal instead displaced
Equilibrators shorter
Dial pointers instead circular lamps

Is the text on the photo in Bulgarian; If so, what does it read?

Sturm78,

It could a modernized version that uses the Übertragung 37, similar to what the Flak 36 and 37 are to the Flak 18. And the pedestal could also have come from a 8.8 cm Flak 36 or 37 as such a pedestal was probably more readily available than the original pedestal by the end of the war.

The Bulgarians could have retained the 75 mm barrel instead of using complete 8.8 cm Flak instead as they probably had 75 mm ammunition still available.

Hi Sturm

It was the later sighting dials that made me think of Flak 36 but looking at the photo again I could see it was not a 88.

If you look at the pedestal the photo has been taken viewing along the fixed arm. Look carefully where the two side arms are in relation to the pedestal itself, they are nearer the camera, which means the pedestal is off center.

From an expired ebay.de auction: 8,8 cm Flak M31(r) – Note the Übertragungsgerät 37.
