We have no indications that there were any Festungsgranatwerfer in Hirtshals (or in Denmark for that, apart from M19), so the most obvious use would be for a MG.

I agree that there would not be space for the loader. But there wouldn't be either without the coupula with a mounting of the MG as shown on the sketch.

On the picture above, there is no special mounting for the MG, it simply rests with the bipod on the ring - see the picture in better quality below.

Nice reconstruction. But maybe the MG was fixed in the hole in the concrete cupola and not in the Ringschiene? This would leave more space for the gunner (please see attachment).

Yes, that seems even more plausible (also, the shields would seem redundant inside a cupola).
