The last photo shows the 42cm Skoda howitzer that bombarded Gros Ouvrage Schoenenbourg in June 1940.

Jos, hello, yes, the area of 215.ID was between Windstein and Mattstall - ca.20km west of Schoenenbourg.

Hello,

The 1918 photograph above of the 38-cm Skoda M 16 is taken in november 1918 in north-west of Verdun.
The 38-cm was abandonned by his austrian crew when american troops attacked north-west of Verdun in the very last days of the war.
I have a sery of photographs of this howitzer with french officers dated november 1918.
Two austrian 42-cm with austrian crews were also used on west front in 1918, first in march 1918 near Saint-Quentin against english troops and in october and november 1918 against french and american troops near Verdun but these 42-cm returned in Austria in november 1918.I have photographs of austrian 42-cm on west front dated march and october 1918 and some of these photographs were published in french Review "Tank Zone".
Yours sincerely,
Guy François.
