These howitzers were ex-German howitzers captured during WW1 by the Allies and recaptured by Germans during 1940 in France and Belgium.

Hi Uwe,

Germany had 28 of these howitzers in service in 1939, all upgraded with new metal wheels with solid rubber pneumatics

i think no, because there were so much 21cm Mrs.18 but they have not enough semi chains for it.

and the lg. 21cm Mrs. were very old...cant found it at the coast artillery

Jan. 1940 - s.Art.Abt. (mot.) 604, 607, 616, 631 & 732 with each 2 batteries
and 615 with 1 battery

in early 1941 - s.Art.Abt. (mot.) 604, 607, 616 with each 3 batteries to 3x 21cm lg. Mrs.

in action in greece were the s.Art.Abt. (mot.) 607 and 616

Probably a captured Moerser from WW1 in a square in France or Belgium. I don’t think you’d want to position and fire it from within this tight pack of trees at the risk of hitting a tree trunk !

On several picture's in this topic there are numbers painted on the gun,
any idea if these are the gun numbers of the lg. 21 cm M ???

post 1 = Nr 5
post 2 = Nr 7
post 30 = Nr 2
now = Nr 12
