701. Batterie (E), 01.06.44

The artillerie officer's organigram of the 15th Army (Stoart AOK 15) for 1June 1944 shows the 701. Eisenbahn Batterie without weapons. Were its 21 cm K5 (E) defective or something at this date? Or simply a mistake by the draughtsman?

Hello Leo

This could be right , because in a report from 24-05-1944 one 21 cm K.12 gun was bombed at
Valenciennes railwaystation and was send for repair to Rügenwalde .
The other 21 cm K.12 from E.A.B. 701 was found blowed up at Sluiskil ( Holland ) because the
gun could not cross the river Scheldt during the retrait of 15 Army .

Thanks, Jos.
So at least one of the two was hors de combat. Be nice to know if the second one was either damaged between 25 May and 1 June 1944, or even sometime before that date?

Cheers

Hello

Still strange at least one 21 cm K.12 was at Valenciennes and not at Pas de Calais ( Stp. Bismarck 192 ) ??

Hmm does this report comes from H.Gr. Weichsel docs?
At this time 18.2.45 Eis.Art.Abt. 679 consisted of 3 batteries:
701 with 21cm
8./100 with 24cm
695 with 28cm Kz.Bruno

Dzięki @ndrew

Eisenbahn Artillerie Abteilung 679

E.A.B. 701 = 1 x 21 cm K.12 (E)
E.A.B. 8/100 = any idea what kind of 24 cm railwayguns
E.A.B. 695 = ? x 28 cm Kz. Bruno K (E)

24cm don't know-I feel it was Theodor Bruno but no proof so far...also number of guns in 695...
