Hi Erik, is that part of a fortification bunker, or was the turret just discarded in that place and spraypainted too?

It is a part of a fortification!
The next turrets are ca 100 meters in each direction, forming the second line of "Landfront Stavanger"

This photo is from the turret 100 meters westwards, the way I like them best :D

Very nice pictures Erik. It must have been Späte's groundcrew that has been there. :D

Best regards/ Daniel

Hi Eric

Most pics I've seen of these the turret hatch seems to be welded shut, but on the 2 pics above they are open. What was inside and was any of the original fixings still in situ?

Hallo Andy!

None of the hatches I have seen has been welded!
I have probably visited 20 turrets, and none of them ar closed this way.....

Most of the interior is gone. On a few examples some parts are still in place, but very rusty!
The turret once was equipped exactly like it was on the tank!

Here is a few interior shots.
2 from PzKpfw 38(t) and one from a PzII turret

Hi Erik, how did the gunners inside the turrets turn them, was it manual or with some kind of battery?

I`m not sure what you mean with (sp) ???

Most of them were built in 1943 by the Germans.

After the war, some of them were sold as scrap, but most of them remained in the Norwegian army. I don`t know how long they were operational, but I guess most of them were unarmed in 1946-48......
