Skoda artillery in late 1930s
Re: Skoda artillery in late 1930s
Artillerie des 20. Jahrhunderts, Band 1, Leichte Feldgeschutze by Franz Kosar has a bit clearer version of the H3 photo and some info on its 76,5 mm companion piece.

Btw. there is also information that Finland bought that batch of produced H4 howitzers.

Hi all,
Gathering all the information we have about Skoda H-Series of light howitzers:
Skoda H1 - 10cm Light Howitzer, export model for Iran, 1935
No images
Skoda H2 - 10.5cm Light Howitzer, export model for Latvia not delivered, 1938. To Finland in 1941.
split trail, wooden wheels
Skoda H3 - 10cm Light Howitzer, planned for Czechoslovakian Army as Vz 39 but cancelled, 1938.
split trail, pneumatic tires and mudguards
Skoda H4: 10.5cm Light Howitzer, maybe ordered by the German army in an order of 88 copies ??
I have in my computer this photo labeled as 100mm Skoda H4 howitzer taken at a museum in Romania. (split trail, wooden wheels)
Maybe the Germans gave the order of 88 copies to Romania
....But I can not see any difference with the Skoda H2 howitzer used by Finland.
Maybe Skoda H2 and H4 howitzers are the same howitzer with a different denomination.

Re: Skoda artillery in late 1930s
Hi all,
About the Skoda E-series guns I have some questions:
About the image posted by Markus on 20 Dec 2011, Is correctly identified as an E7 or is an E9 gun?
76.5mm or 75mm ??
In this link it is labeled as a 75mm E9 gun http://www.delostrelectvocsarmady1918-1 ... -kanon-e-9
What about 75mm Skoda E3 gun? It looks like a gun with a very short tube. Export model??
Any information and/or images about these guns will be wellcome.

Re: Skoda artillery in late 1930s
E3 was proposed as new gun for cavalry brigades but it was rejected. I don't know if from technical or organization reasons. E7 was planned as new gun for fast divisions - to replace old 8cm M.5/8 guns but organization could be changed with new weapons.Sturm78 wrote: What about 75mm Skoda E3 gun? Re: Skoda artillery in late 1930s
In my opinion info on that site www.delostrelectvocsarmady1918-1939.estranky.cz is wrong and that gun is E7 as is actually written at the top of this page (peeved post).
Re: Skoda artillery in late 1930s
Thank you, Pavel.
Does somebody have any wartime image of Skoda H4 howitzer in Romanian service?
Here a small image of a 15cm Skoda M1934 (K2) Romanian howitzer firing

Hi all,
The only image I have could find of the 75mm Skoda C6 mountain gun (often designated as M1939).
In use in Romania and Iran.

Hi all,
I found this interesting image of an 75mm Skoda M1928 Romanian artillery battery during a parade in 1940:
There are very few photographs of the Romanian artillery during World War II.

It is difficult to see the flags in the background but couldn't it be a parade of Yugoslavian troops with 8 cm M28 guns? Yugoslavian soldiers also wore Adrian helmets.
