I think of Fort du Roule. In my memory it also has a bridge to the entrance.

The entrance to the fort at Port Louis in Lorient looks a little like that as well....

Look at the stone in the wall and new fence around the fort. And the round arch of the entrance. This should be Fort du Roule.

May be Cherbroug or Brest, there are a lot of forts !

I don't think it's Fort du Roule. It does not seem to match the entrance of the museum where the wooden bridge is located, in paticular there is no slit on the left of the entrance:

Your picture is from the short side of the barrack , please note the drawing the shooting hole on the long side .
On the picture of Benny you see the right shooting hole matches the left one .

Photo's taken during a visit of Gen Feldm. Rommel at Fort du Roule at Sunday 30-01-1944, you can see the concrete mixers.
