Jos,
I think of Fort du Roule. In my memory it also has a bridge to the entrance.

The entrance to the fort at Port Louis in Lorient looks a little like that as well....

Jos,
Look at the stone in the wall and new fence around the fort. And the round arch of the entrance. This should be Fort du Roule.

No, it is not Port Louis, sorry...
Neither the Fort du Loc'h.

May be Cherbroug or Brest, there are a lot of forts !

I don't think it's Fort du Roule. It does not seem to match the entrance of the museum where the wooden bridge is located, in paticular there is no slit on the left of the entrance:

Hi Emmanuel

Your picture is from the short side of the barrack , please note the drawing the shooting hole on the long side .
On the picture of Benny you see the right shooting hole matches the left one .

Picture = Benny Vermeire
Drawing = SHM Cherbourg

Hi

A shot of the entrance building of the museum at Fort du Roule - looks very much the same.

Best regards

The luftwaffe officer could be of the light flakbatterie at the fort .

Interesting picture, Etienne. Thank you for posting. I think I can see one of the 75 mm AA guns on platforms in the back.
