military funeral honors
military funeral honors
Hello All
A other function of a artillery piece in a military funeral was to be used as carrier for the coffin .
Here some examples from some funerals of high ranking officers , the first photo is from funeral
of Erwin Rommel .
Photo's = BaMa . Beeldbankwo2 and Ebay
Regards Jos

Hi Jopaerya,
Your second photo is interesting. I had never seen a 10.5cm leFH18 limber fitted with solid tires.
It seems a contradiction

Hello Tim
This could be the funeral of Gen. Seyffardt , looks there are also N.S.B. uniforms beside the coffin .

Re: military funeral honors
Is there any speciality for the type of the guns used. I see there's only howitzer only...

Re: military funeral honors
I'm guessing they were best suited for carrying a coffin. Would be hard to place one on a 8,8 without having an extra section between gun and carrier. Probably wouldn't fit on anything smaller either.
