Post by moonraker » 22 Dec 2011, 12:39

hello,
at the request of jos post I put themselves on the series of bunker SPECIAL feldmabig 600.I never speak of this discovery still a forum public.here how it happened !
After several trips in Brittany, sector "Pontrieux, aber-warc'h crozon" and as a result of the measurement of hundreds of bunker we have made an incredible discovery document with proof of German support .. I have set out our survey my friends and jos hans and our group is our conclusion of all! This is the search for our group and not just me!

1/during the war the 17 fest pioneer to innovate by building works in the 600 series in 40 cm thick wall.
2/the bunker is constructed as an ST, steel beam and sheet metal in the toit.les walls are equipped with rebar and above the doors on steel beams.
3/very important for the germans is the functions of bunker : MG bunkers or Beobachtung or LAG or PAK.
4/for each type must understand that finding has the room or lodge soldiers or kampfraum which is similar but not complete since the bunker was a very mild type.allways height = 2.30m as ST.
5/Here are the types that have been built that we managed to find time for that.
serie feld : 630,627,668,625,642 and 677
6/
ex find : 668 feld x 15-20
ex find: 630 feld small x 3-4
ex find: 630 feld big x 4
ex find: 627 feld x 4
ex find: 625 feld x 5

7/I can forget former, many are found, measure and not listed.note on plan only VF ...

Thanks Etienne

Not all bunkers are exact copy's of the St bunkers but the functions are the same , the 668
copy is a exact kopy also the schartenstand look a lot like the Regelbau .
The BeFra or FraBe team found also some German information on these type's in the report
of the Festung Brest there is a bauplan with St bunker that were build in Vf .
I personel think that these Vf types were build and planned late in the war because the report
is from early 1944 and the original 668 was given free ( 4 Ergänzung ) on 12-07-1943 .
All these bunker are only found in a part of Bretagne .

Regards Jos

yes jos, the kampfraum is often very similar extent. but tell you truth when you said that the function is the most important.

It was a pleasure for me that Etienne have found this series on our trips
me i haven t seen
in that period i often called them VF but now we ve already done a beautifull studie of it
I hope that others have found them also and now maybe we can identify other bunkers here
One indication you see imideately
altough the walls are 40 cm the ceiling is made with IPM irons ans steel plates like a St bunker

Was there a shortage of concrete in the area? Otherwise I don't see why they would have build bunkers with 40 cm walls, but still use the steel parts.

hello th,
no shortage of concrete in my opinion. speed of construction, similar function and greater reduction of steel. rundsthal and plate type.
